Sara leads UEC executive transition team
Sara is excited about her recent work designing and facilitating the executive director transition at Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center (UEC). When the longtime executive director Ken Leinbach announced he would be stepping down, Sara, who is on the UEC board, was in a position to put her leadership transition planning and facilitation skills into action. Sara formed a transition task force of board members. She then led the task force and board through the entire transition, including the handoff between the exiting and incoming directors, internal and external communications, and first 90-day planning with the incoming director.
Sara says of the project, “I was honored to facilitate this transition for UEC. I am excited about the next chapter of the Urban Ecology Center and our mission of connecting people in cities to nature and each other under the leadership of Jen Hense as our new executive director.”
